The Lakes of Killarney
19th – 23rd September 2013: 5 Day Tour
This trip to Killarney will see us tour the 3 Peninsulas that sit at the foot of Ireland. The Iveragh Peninsula, better known as “The Ring of Kerry”, lies between the Dingle and Berra Peninsula. Whether it’s enjoying a stroll through the bustling streets of Killarney or taking in the breath-taking views of the Lakes, there’s something for everyone on this tour. This year we base our tour in the well known Gleneagles Hotel, the home of entertainment in Killarney.
Thurs 19th: Letterkenny - Galway - Limerick - Killarney
From Letterkenny we make our way to Killarney with stops in Sligo and Bunratty en-route.
Fri 20th: The Ring of Kerry
Today we tour the famous "Ring of Kerry". Beginning in Killorglin, famous for the "Puck Fair", and on along the coast to stop at the Scarrif Inn where you can enjoy some lunch and the spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean below. We continue on to Sneem, Moll's Gap and Ladies View.
Sat 21st : The Dingle Peninsula
A day on the Dingle Peninsula is a truly wonderful day. The town of Dingle is a popular fishing town and is also home of the famous "Fungie" the dolphin. The views of the Blasket Islands are among the many sights to see as we journey around Slea Head.
Sun 22nd : Free Day– or – Optional Trip to Caha Pass & Gougane Barra
Today is a free day in Killarney to relax & absorb the atmosphere in this holiday town. For anyone who 'has itchy feet' and would like to admire more of the surrounding scenery, there is an optional excursion. We travel over the Caha Pass where we get a spectacular view of Bantry Bay. We then visit St. Finbar's Monastery in the idyllic settings of Gougane Barra on our way back to Killarney.
Mon 23rd : Killarney - Galway – Letterkenny
Today we make our journey home with stops en-route and arriving in Letterkenny at approx 7.00pm.
